After the absences in the 2006 World Cup and Euro 2008, Denmark come back to the elite of world football. In South Africa these Danes can be a pleasant surprise, because in three previous appearances (86-98-02) the "Denmachine" as it became known in 1986 always take a place in last 16. This time Morten Olsen's team has everything to became one of the 16 best teams in the world.

Qualification is not easy because they have Sweden and Portugal in the same group but the Danes were clean and gave only one defeat in 10 games totaling 21 points. The team showed a strong defensive consistency and players in good shape like Bendtner or Tomassen.

Key Players

Jon Dahl Tomasson - Currently playing in Feyenoord, this great Danish forward has been in clubs like Milan and Villarreal. He is the captain and hopes to share his experience with his team colleagues.

Daniel Agger - The most experienced defense in Denmark. He acts in Liverpool and will be much important in team's defensive sector.

The Coach

Morten Olsen is  the coach since 2000. After guide Denmark in  Euro in 2000 and 2004 and in the 2002 World Cup he "crossed the desert" in major competitions between 2004 and 2010. He shows that their stay was a won bet  from the Danish federation.
